During last 4 years i promis to my friends to share with them the last World Factbook version in this forum, i come today with a new release in my hand, the version 2008.

The World Fact Book 2008 is a complete listing of all the world's countries. Includes flags and maps, geographical, demographical, political, economic, military (etc.) data.

What's New?

- Country information has been updated as of 17 January 2008.
- In the Geography category, two new fields focus on the increasingly vital resource of water: “Total renewable water resources” and “Freshwater withdrawal.”
- In the Economy category, three fields have been added that focus on capital stocks and investment. They are "Stock of direct foreign investment - at home," "Stock of direct foreign investment - abroad," and "Market value of publicly traded shares."
- In the Notes and Definitions, c oncise descriptions have been added of the major religions mentioned in the Factbook .
- Several notable geographic changes have occurred. The US Board on Geographic Names (BGN) now recognizes Timor-Leste as the short form name for East Timor ; its description may be found under this new designation. France 's overseas possessions have been reorganized. The five former entities of Bassas da India, Europa Island , Glorioso Islands , Juan de Nova Island, and Tromelin Island , previously grouped as Iles Eparses ( Scattered Islands ), now constitute a district of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands . Additionally, the islands of St. Barthelemy and St. Martin, formerly a part of the French overseas region of Guadeloupe , now make up separate overseas collectivities and have their own Factbook entries.
- Revision of some individual country maps, first introduced in the 2001 edition, is continued in this edition. Several regional maps have also been updated to reflect boundary changes and place name spelling changes.

How to install ?

The world factbook 2008 comes in html format, and than i convert it into .pdb format.
Why ".pdb" format? because this format is fast than PDF format and Java aplications, it can be used in different devises including Symbian supported devices, it can be read by iSilo software.

For Symbian S60 3rd edition:
1- Install iSilo software, you can find the last version vr.5.01
2- Unrar "CIA_World_Fact_Book_2008-packed-by Nabilove-iSilo.rar" and transfer to your phone memory, put it in "E:/Documents/isilo" directory
3- Open iSilo software and than chose "CIA_World_Fact_Book_2008" open it and then click on
Menu(*)-> Edit->Options->Layout->Disable table layout->Ok (*)not the phone menu
4- For best view u can use iSilo vr.4.36 (tested on E65 and N82)
5- Enjoy it !!!

For other platforms:
1- Download and install the appropriate version of iSilo for your device here
2- Transfert the .pdb file to your device and open it using iSilo.
3- Enjoy it
